Sydney, Friday. V, The Government have introduced aT^ bill into the Legislative Assembly to amend the existing Land Acts. It hsa been read a first time. General Roberts has issued a proclamation announcing the abdication of Yakoob Khan, and stating that the -outrage on the residency has compelled the occupation by the British of Cabul and other parts of Afghanistan, pending a settlement of affairs. A permanent Government will be established after • consultation with the chief Sirdars.
