LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Tuesday, July 29. In the Council there was a disinclination to proceed to business until after the settlement of the crisis was known, the orders of the day being postj)oned. QUESTIONS. Colonel Whitmore, replying to a question, said that the Agent-General had not applied to him for permission to join the Land Company until after he had done so. The Colonel Secretary, replying to Mr Waterhoiiae, said the Government had made £442,000 worth of Treasury Bills payable in London at the request of the holders. The Council adjourned at 3.30 till Thursday.
