"An exceedingly attractive addition was made to Rainer's Diorama last evening. Besides the stirring battle scenes of tne American War, the audience was presented with a now and beautiful panorama, representing some of tha chief events in the late Struggle between Russia and Turkey. The views opeM with a representation of Constantinople. This is no ordinary daub, but a picture that might well grace the walk of any gallery of art. The colors of sea and sky 1 , and the representation of the splendour of the great Eastern Metropolis, with its magnificent domes and spires, and columns rising lii^h above the densely packed houses and palaces, are Well ealdulated to entrance the eye, and awaken admiration. Next in point of artistic value are the splendid pictures of the river Danube, and the fastnesses of Bulgaria, with its romantic scenery. Views are given of the Russians crossing the Danube, and the excitement and bustle in the Turkish villages, when the luxurious harems and peasants' lints were distnrbed by the approaching invader aro dopioted with admirable vividness. There is nomething to* pity as well amuse in the scenes that the artist has produced. The features are particularly well brought out ; for the colors and contrasts are vivid, and by a skilful contrivance the glare of the canon and the roar of artillery is produced with striking fidelity. Tho panorama is valuable as a work of art, ' for it ia skilfully painted, and the colors are peculiarly vivid. Besides this, it has the merit of novelty and tho fact that it is no hastily prepared production, but a trnly elaborate work must give it an enhanced v»lue in the estimation of all who witness it. We can recommend all who desire to enjoy a truthful and effective representation of Eastern scenery, and especially of the incidents of the late Avar, to pay the Queen's a visit before the season terminates. A word of commendation is due to Mr Harry Stanley, the lecturer, whose descriptions are crUp, full of instruction, and racy, while his songs alternatively elicit unbounded mirth, and stir np a warm feeling of patriotic enthusiasm."
