Brown, for the purchase of .timber in the Puketapu cutting £2 7s. "! 'From Messrs Campbell and M'Kay, for '," "cutting and filling in the Puketapu ' ' cutting ; No. 1 contract £159 2s, and No. 2 contract £78 (to be completed July }0, '1879). '.' ! . OVEBSEBRB REPORT. i . 'The report of the overseer of works was read. SLAUGHTERING HOUSES. ■ The report of the inspector of slaughtering houses was read, to the effect that all ■ the slaughtering houses under hia inspection were in good order, and well conducted. COUNTY SATE. The notice of motion of the Chairman for striking a rate of sixpence in the pound ' was postponed until the next meeting oi the Council. TAIPO DRAIN. Mr Kinross moved, pursuant to notice, that the Taipo drain be placed under the - ; control of the Meanee Road Board.
' Mr Torr seconded the motion. Alter a brief discussion the motion was negatived on the voices. NOTICE OF MOTION. Mr Torr gave notice to move at next sitting of the Council, "That this Council take over the Tongoio road, from the Petane Hotel to the boundary of the County." ACCOUNTS. The month's accounts were passed for payment. The Council then adjourned.
