DISTRICT PRIZE FIRING.

The Napier Artillery and Engineer Volunteers commenced their annual prize firing yesterday morning. Owing, however, to the large number of competitors only one range out of three was fired at, viz., the 200 yards. The competition was very keen, no less than seven making a score of twenty points; three scored twentyone, two reached one point higher, and one, Mr J. G. Wilson, outstripped the rest of the marksmen with a fine score of twenty-four points, out of a possible twenty-eight. The score, taking into consideration the size of the bull's-eye, eight inches, is very creditable. The following is a list of the competitors, with their scores in detail : — Name 200 yds. Tl.
