The.supply of fat sheep this week, as compared with previous weeks, was decidedly short, notwithstanding which there was no disposition on the part of the trade to operate to any extent, and consequently prices receded, the' best butchers' mutton barely making 15s '4d; inferior, 11s 4d to 11s 2d j fat lambs in fair supply, but no demand, best making 6s 6d to 7s $ fat beef in good supply and fair quality, but in excess of trade requirements, therefore little competition was induced; best quality made from 25s to 265, inferior from 21s to 24b. Pigs, fair demand. Store stock of all descriptions is expressly difficult to realise, the continued drought being an impediment to operation. The grain and produce business during the past week has in a great measure partaken of the character of preceding transactions. Dulness still .pervades the market. In wheat the ;firmer feeling already noted has been maintained, and sales have been made by the farmers much, more freely lately; the closing quotations are perhaps a trifle higher than what were current Borne days ago, the principal buyers having been millers.
