He won the Consolation Stakes at the Napier Spring Meeting, the Cup and Ladies' Purse at Patea, and was the first past the post for the Open Bace at Woodthorp'e, carrying list 41b (a good jumper and first-class hack). He must be a good disciplinarian, and able to teach singing, drawing, and drill. The salary depends upon the average attendance at the school, but £180, with house, is guaranteed for the first year.
