For all horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding £25 in value. Start at 3. 15 p.m. 6. District Plate, of 60 soys. For all horses bred in the Provincial Dittrict of Hawke's Bay that have never won an advertised race exceeding 50 soys. Entrance, 4 soys. Distance, 1 mile. Weight for age. Start at 4 p.m. 7. Consolation Handicap, of 30 soys. Distance, 1 mile. Start at 5 p.m. No entrance will be receivedlfor any of the races, except on this condition— That all disputes, of whatever nature, shall be decided by the majority of the stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. All entries, except for the Hawke's Bay Cup and Grand Hurdle Race, to be sent to the Secretary, at the Masonic Hotel, on or before 8 p.m. on Monday, March 10. The rules and weights of the Canterbury Jockey Club will be adhered to. The handicap for the Cup and Hurdle Race will appear as soon after the nominations as possible. Horses walking over will receive half the stakes ; if two start, 75 per cent. February 27 — Acceptances for tbe Hawke's Bay Cup and Grand Handicap Hurdle Race. March 10— Nig. 't of general entries.
