The p.s. Manaia, Caplain Baxter, has been chartered by the General Agent to bring from Wairoa 70 natives for a "tangi" at Pakowhai.
The s.s. Wanaka, Captain M'Gillivray, arrived in the Bay early yesterday morning, having had a good run down the coast. The launch took off the outward passongers at noon, and the Wanaka steamed away for the South shortly afterwards. The bar at Wairoa is at present good, but the river is shallow.
The Albert Victor, three-masted schooner, and the schooner Maggie Patcrson, were lying in Poverty Bay discharging railway iron brought from the Bluff for the Ormond lino of railway.
