They must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public [Works, Wei- ' lington, and marked outside "Tender for Waitakerei and Waitemata Contracts." ' Plans and specifications may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Inveroargill, Wanganui, and Wellington; also, at the Railway Manager's Office, Napier. Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any Telegraph Office by Noon of the same date, provided that written tenders in due form are lodged at any of the above-named offices by the same hour, and accompanied by a cheque on some bank in the town where the tender, is lodged ; such oheque to be Bpeoially marked by a banker as good for twenty-one days, and to be in favor of the Keceiver-Ueneral's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. The rules and weights of the Canterbury Jockey Club will be adhered to. The handicap for the Cup and Hurdle Race will appear aa soon after the nominations as possible. Horses walking over will receive half the stakes ; if two start, 75 per cent.
