THE LATE ACCIDENT AT THE BUTTS.
Sib, — I notice that in the evidence given by Dr. de Lisle at the coroner's inquest yesterday, he states that Dr. Spencer saw the late Mr Kelsall with Dr. de Lisle. If that was the case, which of course I do not at all doubt, why was not Dr. Spencer called to give evidence at the inquest? It was so extraordinary a matter c . that death should have ensued so quickly from what was deemed a slight wound, as to render it necessary that all the evidence procurable should have been furnished. This has certainly not been done, and someone is assuredly to blame for the neglect. I think an inquiry should be instituted into the matter by the Government. — I am, &c, , Bullet. [We understand that Dr. . Spencer was not in attendance upon the. deceased, but was called in just prior to his death. — Ed. H.B.K] .... .
