(B* SPECIAL WIRE.) AUCKLAND, January 10. Mr Alfred Buckland reports to-day, upon the market as follows :— Harvesting being general throughout the country, sales have been smaller than iwsual. The prices for store cattle at Waiuku Bhoved an upward tendency. At Bemuera, to-day, fat; cattle were numerous; 150 head were yarded, mfcstl} of good quality. : For nnferior, cattle the biddings were slack, "but all fairly fatted were in demand, and pricesr ranged from 27a for middling, to 33s for prime quality, with steady enquiry. .„ Sheep were unusually numerous. Stores were '' ot. nominal values, 3s to 6s each; but fat t*»heep"»-were«?in -good enquiry, small sized •'wrthew 3id,'arid large sheep 3d per lb.; ejree from' kid to 3d ; ; lambs were numerous, ana 4 *lt of choice quality were eagerly competed for; the best quality ranged from 10s to 14a Aieach' ; : inferior, from 3s to 5s each. Matheson' and Co. report that at their „.w eekly sale; held yesterday, 254 head cattle, ;$ 6511 slieep, ; and 57 pigs were yarded.
