(BY TELEGRAPH.) AUCKLAND, August 23. Mr Buckland reports— Fat sheep, short supply, slightly higher in value, prices have ranged from 3£d to 4d per 1b ; noggeta, in low condition, 8s to 9s each ; fat cattle, 32s to 36s per 100 lbs ; 42 steers averaged £10 3s each.

Market quotations — Fat cattle, £10 to £16; light weight heifers, £8 to £10; steers, £6 to .£6 10s ; sheep, cross-breds, 6s 6d to 7s 2d. Business in the grain market has been quiet during the week and there have been few sales. Trade in beer and spirits has been brisk,
