May B—Fairy,8 — Fairy, s.s., for Whangawei. May 9— Taupo, s.s., for Poverty Bay, Tauranga, and Auckland. Passengers — Hon. The U.S.S. Co.'s s.s. Taupo left Port Chalmers at 4 p.m. on Saturday, 4th May, arrived at Akaroa at 8 a.m. on Sunday ; c"ischarg.d and loaded several tons cargo ; left again at 10 o'clock the same tide, arriving at Ly ttelton at 2. 30 p. m. She left for Wellington at 5 p.m. on Monday, Gfch inst., arrived alongside Queen's wharf at 11 a.m. on Tuesday ; sailed for Napier at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, experiencing a fine wind till arrival in the roadstead at 9 a.m. yesterday. The Taupo has brought 105 tons general cargo, 422 sheep, and 1 horse, all in good condition. She was tendered by the Sir Donald, Three Brothers, and Why-not, and left for Gisborne and the Northern ports shortly after 5 o'clock last evening. We have to thank Mr Stanton for files and report. The next boat from the South will be the Wanaka, arriving here next Thursday. She will bring the balance of the shipment of sheep, say 250. The Hawea is due from the North with the San Francisco mail on Sunday morning next. The s.s. Rangatira, Captain Evans, left the breastwork for Poverty Bay at 11.30 a.m. yesterday. She took on board a large quantity of wool for Wellington, shipped by Messrs Murray, Common and Co., and some reclamation plant, shipped by Mr Berry, of Gisborne, and also 3 horses, shipped by Messrs Kinross and Co. She should have arrived there about 10 o'clock last evening, and will leave again for this port to-day arriving here early on Saturday morning, and leaving again for Wellington at 11 a.m. The s.s. Mohaka, Captain Baxter, left last evening for Wairoa, having been delayed for 24 hours owing to the weather. The s.s. Fairy, Captain John Campbell, left on Wednesday night for Whangawei, and will no doubt return to port to-day. The schooner Kelson, Captain Robertson, was discharging at the breastwork yesterday, and turned out her cargo in splendid condition. The barquentine Falcon, Captain John Hair, is now 20 days out from Newcastle, N.B. W., and should have put in her appearance in the roadstead before this.
