EXPECTED ARRIVALS.

The following is Captain Gaster's report of the passage of the barque Celestial Queen from Nelson, which arrived in our roadstead at a late hour on Thursday evening : — Left Nelson on Sunday last at 8 p.m. with a light southerly breeze. On Monday, was in Blind Bay, with light airs and calm, and at about 4 p.m. a fresh N.W. breeze sprung up, which steadily increased, and at midnight had strong winds. On passing through Cook Strait, at 2.20 a.m. on Tuesday, the Brothers light bore W. i S., six miles distant, and at 10 a.m. Cape Palliser W.S.W., \ W. In the afternoon had a strong breeze and puffy, which decreased towards the night. On Wednesday encountered light and variable airs and calm all day. On Thursday at 3 p.m., caught a fresh from S.W., and at 8.30 p.m. anchored in Napier roadstead. Shortly after leaving Nelson, at 10.35 p.m. a young lad named Needham fell off the main yard into the wates, but the gig was lowered and the lad picked up and brought on board by the crew, who deserve special commendation for the prompt manner in. which they acted ' under the circumstances. The Celestial Queen was moored to the inner buoy by Pilot Kraeft yesterday morning, and she commences discharging her cargo into the lighters this morning. The s.s. Eangatira, Captain Evans, arrived from Gisborne at 7 o'clock yesterday morning, and was tendered by the passenger launch Bella. The cargo for Gisborne was all landed, and the Rangitira took 206 bags grass seed on board and left for Napier. The launch took off the outer passengers, and the Eangatira steamed for Wellington at 12 o'clock yesterday. The s.s. Mohaka, Captain R. Baxter, cleared out for the Mohaka on Thursday evening with a cargo of stores. If she is successful in. getting in the river she will return some time to-day. The schooner Opotiki took in the Gisborne portion of the topsail schooner Zior's cargo, and it is expected she will leave for that port this morning. The s.s. Southern Cross, Captain Holmes, left for Lyttelton last evening. The passengers who intend going home by the barque Adamant are requested to secure their berths at once. ■ The cutter Eapid, Captain Ferney, arrived from the Mohaka at 9 o'clock last evening. The captain reports landing all his cargo at that port, and then left for Napier.
