TELEGRAPHIC SHIPPING.
Port Chalmers, April 4. Arrived — The Albion Company's ship Wild Deer, with 29 passengers, and 1200 tons of cargo, after a passage of 92 days, from Glasgow. Melbourne, April 4. The Underwriters' Association report as follows : — London, .April 2. Arrived — Timaru, ship, from Port Chalmers. Auckland, April 4. Sailed — Taupo, at 4 p.m. for Napier. Passengers — Mrs FitzWilliams, Mrs Haseldean, Messrs Herman, Harker, and Elder. Wanoaniti, April 4. The steamer Wallace was discovered at daylight this morning riding at anchor evidently disabled, six miles south of Wanganni Heads, and about a mile and a half from the shore, flying signals of distress. She had nine passengers. Telegrams were sent to Nelson and Wellington, there being no steamer ia the port of Wanganui. She is now riding heavily, the kell being visible at times. If the wiud rises her position is dangerous. Later. At 7 p.m. the wind decreased, and the sea had gone down. The steamer Wallace is now riding at anchor easily.
