I offered the cow for sale at T. Reynolds, which he said to me that he thought the cow ought to be paid for before I offered it for sale j whether that was to injure my character I leave the public to understand. I told him the cow and also the service to the mare would, be paid for at once by applying to me for an order to receive the same from Mr John Orr, which complies with his wishes, by giving the proper brand and also the receipt. In regard to the work that was done by J. B. for A. M'Lean, it was very reasonably done for the time of year.
