An extraordinary case of precocious dissipation, attended with fatal results, is reported from the Commune of Chapelle-aux-Bois, near Epinal. Three youngsters ! bought two quart bottles of brandy at the fair, and drank the whole between them in the space of an hour, by which they became insensible. The youngest, Eugene Duprut, aged thirteen, died on being taken home. Another, Jules ; Bessor, aged sixteen, expired a few hours' later. The third, Felicien Bliquez, aged seventeen, was saved, thanks to the fact of his parents placing him near the stove, the heat of which acted as an emetic ; he recovered, and attended the funeral of his two comrades. — Standard .
