VOLUNTEER FIRING.

TRADESMEN'S PRIZES. The Napier Artillery Cadets competed for the above on Saturday afternoon, at the Tutaekuri range. There -Were nineteen prizes apportioned for them, and only nineteen boys took part in the competition ; there was therefore a prize for everyone. Each boy had only five shots, owing to the scarcity of ammunition. The shooting -was very good, considering the high wind blowing at the time, and which, very nearly took some of the boys off their feet. The range was 100 yds, and any position.
