A NUISANCE.

Sir,— The trough in front of the Provincial Hotel is, no doubt, a great convenience to those for whom it has been provided, but it threatens to become an inconvenience of some magnitude to persons in the neighborhood. There is no adequate outlet for the overflow of water, and as the tap is kept constantly running, we are getting quite a number of quagmires, in the places where the refreshing liquM. settles. Now, I have not a word to say against the trough ; it was very much wanted thereabouts, and I know how pleasant it must be to the poor thirsty horses ; but surely that is no reason why we should have the superabundance of the supply thrust upon us to become a nuisance ! Is there no Inspector of Nuisances in this municipality ? — I am, &c. , Growler.
