CRICKET MATCH.
The return match between the respective elevens of the Star and Commercial Cricket Clubs took place on the Olive Square cricket ground on Saturday afternoon, this time victory being in favor of the former team. The weather was all that could be desired, and though the total scores made on each side were not brilliant, still some good play was shown. The Star having won the toss, defended the wickets, to the trundling of Scotter and Bloomfield. The former being most effective in his bowling, runs were scored slowly during the first part of the game, but when Messrs Tilley and Reavdon got i together a stand was made, and leather hunting became the order of the day, the ; former putting his scores together in good style, making 2 threes, 5 twos, and one single ; Reardon contributing 3 twos and four singles (the only double figures made in the match.) Messrs Scotter and J. Begg each made 7 for their respective side. Messrs Gilpin and J. Martin did good service with the ball for the Star team, the latter doing most damage, taking no less than six wickets. Subjoined are the scores made on each side : — STAR C.C. J.
