THE HOSPITAL COMMITTEE AND MR ORMOND.

Sik, — Who is " Resident," in your paper of this morning 1 If he' is a member or trustee of the Hospital Committee he must certainly have a great opinion of his own ability, as placed against Mr Ormond's known and recognised shrewdness and common sense. Who is he, Mr Editor 1 Is he ashamed, or afraid to sign his own name? Sir, when a person attacks the ability of another, in fairness he should put his name openly and boldly. I'll bet "Resident" a good, round, solid sovereign that he won't get two of the Hospital Committee to publish and sign their names to such trash as he has written in your paper of this morning. I feel fully assured that the rest of the Hospital Committee will feel ashamed to-day of Mr " Resident." — I am, &c., April 10, 1877. Argus. . [Our correspondent writes, apparently, under the impression that Resident" is a member of the Hospital Committee, which impression, we need hardly say, is altogether at variance with fact. — Ed.
