Wa take the following from the Wellington monthly prices current of January 11 : — Since our last, the weather has continued fine, and the transport- and shipment of wool have been going on actively during the past month. '-.•__ sale of Wellington country property is just reported, which shows a satisfactory increase in the value] of land in the district in question. Tbe property is known as the Te Ore Ore estate, in the Wairarapa. It comprises 1500 acres freehold land, and 300 acres leased from natives at a low rental, with nine years to run. The price, is reported to be £20,000 for the land, with house and farm buildings, the live stock, &c, .being taken at a valuatiou. The returns of Customs Revenue for the December quarter of 1876 have been complefced for all but a few of the smaller ports. The subjoined table Bhows the receipts at the various ports, as far as returns are made up, both, for the quarter and year ending 30 th December last, and comparison of the corresponding period of 1875. We regret to see that on the whole they show a slight falling off from the returns of 1875. Lyttelton,-.
