CAUBY, GILLBS, HUNTEB, AND CO.'S BEPOBT (For the week ending Oct. 15.) Cattle.— :A large number have been again brought forward this week. Dairy cows of good quality being an exception ; stores have been penned in ample numbers. For prime beasts there has been a moderate demand, at full quotations, otherwise the market has been depressed, and prices have ruled in favor of buyers. Fat beaats have been quite up to the average as regards number, and as a rule the quality was very good, which were bought up by the trade although the cotnpe* tition for prime has not been quite so brisk, and prices receded about 2s 6d per 100 lbs. Dairy cows sold at from £7 15s to £9 5s ; oalves, from £2 5s to £3 10s; 2-year old steers, from £5 to £6 ; I^-year old steers, from £1 5s to £5 ; 3-year old steers, from £6 15s to £8. Sheep are being offered more freely than of late ; stores are saleable at low figures ; fat sheep in moderate request with a slight downward tendency, caused in a measure by the number of shearlings being offered, Lambs are now in good season, and sell freely at quotations. Ewe lambs sold from 78 3'J to 10s ; fat sheep, half«breeds, from I4s 6d to 183 6d ; lambs, from 6s 6d to 10s. Pigs continue in limited supply and enquired for.
