Molasses. — Sugar Beet grows well in this province, but the roots wehaye seen were much too large for sugar making j probably the soil in which they were grown was too rich. The crop is usually very heavy, but not equal to that of . mangold wortzel. The beet is excellent for pigs, but is said to be too fattening for milch cows. We do not think either the sugar cane or the Bdrghum would be found suitable here. A Kentishman.— -We see no reason why hops should not thrive where they can be sheltered from high winds.
