The barque Novilty, from Sydney, has just arrived in . harbour, after a long and stormy passage of 1 7 days. On Sunday last she encountered a terrific N.E. gale, a heavy sea breaking on board, carrying away portions of her bulwarks, stanchions, etc., etc. - j '-■ ■ - The Wonga Wonga, from Sydney, with the English telegrams, via Suez, is expected here on Thursday morning. The James Paterson sails for Sydney tomorrow. She will carry a number of diggers tb Queensland. An important sale of cattle and sheep is being held to-day, at the yards of Messrs. Carey, Gilles and Co. As the steamer ia leaving immediately,! shall not be able to send quotations.
