The s.s. Storm Bird loft Wellington yesterday at 12 noou for this port, with tho Napier portion of the English mail. Tho ketoh Why Not put back last Monday, after having discharged part of her cargo at Waikare. Whilst of! Wairoa, found the sea running too high to enter tho river, so put back to Napier, and took in additional cargo for Wairoa. She will proceed ngain tho first favourable opportunity. Tho s.s. St. Kilda, (Japt. Fox, left this latt Tuesday evening for Wellington, having on board the chief "Taraha," M.H.R. She will bo handed over to her owners, Messrs. Jackson and Browor, of Wangnuui, who intend running her in the cattle trade. Tho Star of tho South is now due from Auckland, and on arrival will have quick despatch again for tho above-named place. Tho Hero will leave for Wairoa, after taking her cargo on board. Tho brigantine Esther, will, in all probability, leave for Wellington after discharging her inward cargo. Telegraphic. The Claud Hamilton sailed from Hokitika on the 21st, for Melbourne.
The Omeo arrived 'at Port Chalmers on the 22nd,. from the:Bluff, and sailed for Lyttelton on the 23rd. * The St. Kilda arrived at Wellington on the 23rd, from Napier. The Storm Bird sailed from Wellington on the 23rd, for Kapier,
