In all probability the schooner Colonist will leave this to-day for Poverty Bay, with a number of settlers for the new settlement of Ormond. We have been given to understand that the Star of tbe South may be expected from Wellington, having takon the prisoners from Opotiki there. Shipping has luMv been very brisk be tween thia port no*! l*.»verry Buy. The fine schooner Colonist is now on the berth for tbat place. The schooner Muriwai cleared at H.M. Customs last Wednesday for Poverty Bay. We may expeot to see the Three Brothers put in an appearance this week. No doubt tbe late rains will bave washed a channel deep enough at the bar.
