Anew reef has been discovered at Wanga-peta/nalf-a-mile north of Cuiliford's.^ It - was rushed by 80 men; by caudle-lsgkjS .oit Tuesday morning. - Good prospects Jhave been obtained, and gold struck. The steamer Charles Edward struck a snag in the river at Martin's Bay, and sank in about ten feet ofwater. .The cargo: was 7 saved, but damaged. The captain^ and others left in a whaleboat, and were taken
up off Hokitika, five days out.
