We are heartily glad that something has at last been done to unite the scattered musical elements of Napier^ and we wish the new society every success. The Superintendent, we are informed, has kindly allowed the society the use of the Council Chamber for practice meetings, whiuu will save considerable ; expense (an important consideration at present), and there is nothing now wanting but combined effort on the part; of all interested in the cultivation of music to form a society which will keep alive our interest in the science, and, by giving concerts during the coming winter, afford us many a pleasant evening. We are t<>kl that arrangements for beginning practices will soon be completed, and that in. our next j^suq will probably %c announced the date of the first rehearsal of the new society.
