Victualleks' Purse. — Distance 2 miles. 40 soys. Entrance 4 soys. Weights for age. Hack Race. — Distance 1 mile. 10 soys. Post entrance 1 soy. Catch weights. Town Plate. — Handicap. Distance H miles. 60 soys. 3 soys. entrance, and sweep of 3 soys. to acceptors, to go to second horse. Entries to be lodged with the Secretary by 15th January. Weights to be declared 2Cth January, and acceptances, with sweep, by 15th February. Scurry Stakes. — Distance 1 mile. 20 soys., added to a sweepstakes ot 2 soys. Weights for age. Welter weights for age. Winner to be sold for £50. Any surplus to go the fund. If entered to be sold for £40, allowed 71b ; if for £30, 141 b; and £20, 211 b. Hack Race, — Distance J- mile. The Hawke's Bay Jockey Club Rules will be strictly adhered to. For weights for age, see published Rules. Wo person shall be allowed to enter a horse for any race except the Hack Race, unless he be a subscriber to the race fund of Three Sovereigns, or if he be a member of the Club he shall subscribe One Sovereign. The first race to start on each day at one o'clock precisely. The bell will be rung quarter of an hour before each race. Three horses to start in each race, or only half the public money will be given. Second horse to save his stake in each race when public money is given, except the Consolation. All entries to be made under sealed cover, with the exception of the Town Plate, and to be addressed to the Secretary, at Swan's Hotel, Napier, on Friday, 25th February, 1870, not later than 4 p.m. Age and descriprivjn of horses, and colours of riders, to bo stated at time of entry.
