Star of the South, Bendall, master, left Auckland on Monday last tbe 6th instant at 10 p.m. ; experienced fresh N.E. winds and cloudy weather, attended with heavy rain until rounding the East Cape, at 11 p.m. on the 7th, Thence to Wangawehi variable winds and fine weather; anohored there at 10 am. on the Bth, when she shipped about 40 bales bf wool from Messrs. Watt Bros.' station ; left again at five the fame evening, and arrived in the AhuriW luadnicud at 1 a.m. on tbe 9th, entering thu Iron Pot at 7 30 a.m. same day. Mr, James Wutt of the firm of Watt Bros, returned by the Star after being absent for about 12 months on a viait to England. Tbe N.Z.S.N. Co.'s s.B. Rangatira is due here from Auokland to-day, and will, on arrival, have quiok despatoh for Wellington and the Southern ports. Tbe sohooner Murewai left last Wednesday for Poverty and Tologa Bay, witb a large miscellaneous cargo oonsigned principally to Mr. Bead of Poverty, and Mr. Khodes of Tologa Bay. The p.s. Coomerang leffc this port last Tuesday afternoon for Tologa Bay and Auokland. She will take in a cargo of sheep at the former place for the Auckland market. . The barque Jennie Ellingwood, chartered by Messrs. Kinross & Co., has not made an appearance yet, but may be expeoted to arrive at any moment ; also the ketch Three Brothers which leffcPort Chalmers tho same day. The N.Z.S.N. Co.'s s.s. Wellington left Lyttelton for Wellington on tho Bth at 6.40 p.m., and arrived on the 9th, at 4.50 p.m., bringing the English mail. She will probably -leavo tho latter port for Napior to-day with the English October mails, and arrive to-morrow (Saturday,) On arrival she will have quick despatoh for Auckland. The Colonial Government gunboat Sturt left Wellington for Napier on the Bth inst. at 8.30 p.m. H.M.S. Rosario, from Tauranga, arrived in Wellington yesterday at noon.
