Election Notice. IN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Registration of Elections Act, 1858," I» William S. Hunter, Returning Officer for the Electoral District df Porangahau, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a writ bearing date the 25th day of September, 1869, issued under the hand of His Honor the Superintendent, an election will take place of one qualified person to serve as a member of te Provincial Council of the Province of awke's Bay for the said Electoral District, in lieu of John Davies Ormond, Esq., whose seat has been vacated by his acceptance of theofficeof Superintendent; and that the nomination of candidates will take place at Messrs. Hunters' Wool-shed, Porangahau, on FRIDAY, the Ist day of October, 1869, at noon, and that the poll (if necessary) will be taken on SATURDAY, the 2nd October, 1869, and the declaration of the result of the poll at the end thereof.
