M.B^'Josupit Rhodes, Esquire, Deputy- >"''.., Superinteildent of the Province of >'*•' ,iV- V- HWke's*' Bay, in the Islands of Hew Zealand. • ?: WHEREAS by an Abt of the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay> Ses* sion 13, No, 6, intituled the "Educational Rates Act, 1868," it is enacted that certain rates shall be collected for purposes of Education, and that the Superintendent shall appoint proper persons to collect such rates, and that the rate shall become payable within one month after the Governors assent to this Act shall have been published in the Provincial Government Gazette, and that the Superintendent shall, in each year, by proclamation announce the day on which the rate is payable, and, the name of the collector appointed for its collection. Now, therefore, I, Joseph Rhodes, Deputy Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, do hereby proclaim and notify that I have appointed THOMAS A. PEARSE as collector of the. said rate; and, further,. l announce the 20th day of October to be the day on which the said rate shall become payable. Notice* XITHEREAS Donald M'Lean, Esquire, H Superintendent of the Province of Hawke's Bay, hath lately, by writing directed to the Governor of New Zealand on behalf of Her Majesty, resigned the office of Superintendent ; and whereas His Excellency the Governor, by a notification under his hand, directed to me the undersigned, Henry Stokes Tiffen, Speaker of the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay, dated the 3rd. day of September, and received by me on the 12th day of September, hath accepted such resignation on behalf of Her Majesty. Now, therefore, 1,, Henry Stokes Tiffen, in pursuance of the "New Provinces Act, 1858," do hereby convene the members of the Provincial Council of Hawke's Bay, to, meet at the Council Chamber, on the 24th day of Septembee, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of electing a Superintendent of the said Province, in the place of the said Donald M'Lean.
