The e.B. Lord Ashley left Auckland on Saturday last, at noon, experiencing fresh winds. Bounded East Cape at.,3 p^n. the following day, and arrived at Napier at 8 a.m. yesterday, having had fine weather throughout. The Star of the South left Auckland on Thursday at 2 a.m. Experienced S.W. winds and squally weather, arrived off Kawakawa at midnight same day, and made signal for native chief Manama to come on board. Left again at 7 a.m. pn Friday. On rounding the Cape, met a strong souther, and was compelled to bear up for Kawakawa again, where she remained until Saturday at noon, when she proceeded on her voyage, and arrived in tbe roadstead at 11 a.m, on Sunday, entering the Pot the same day at 4 p.m. The Sturt left Wellington on Saturday evening, and arrived in the Iron Pot early yesterday morning. She steamed for Poverty j Bay in course of the-day, on returning from \ which, in a day or two, she will steam for Wellington. The cutter Glimpse, bound for Wellington, via the coast, put back on the 22nd owing to adverse winds, and- sailed again yesterday. This is the second time Bhe has put back this voyage. Owing to the heavy sea on the coast she has not been.able to land her oargo. The Colonial Government s.s, St. Kilda left Auckland at 1 a.m. on Friday for Russell and Napier. The schooner Tawera, from Poverty Bay, arrivedin Auokland on Saturday, with several passengers and 140 sheep. The brig Maggie, with a large general cargo, left Sydney for Napier on the Ilth August. The Undaunted, ship, for Napier, left Port Chalmers on Sunday afternoon.
