The poles are to be sawn from heart of Totara, and are toba perfectly sound, straight, free from loose knots, shakes, and sap ; any . v pole containing the least sap will be rejected. The majority are required to be 20 feet long, 6 inohes square at the top, 8 inohea square at the butt. A few may be required of the following increased dimensions :^-., 27 feet long, 8 in. square at the topi 12 in. square at the butt. 20 feet long, 8 in, square at the top r 12 in. square at the butt. . V , The poles are to be delivered at the places > which will be pointed but by the Telegraph Surveyor along the present track to Taupo, following generally along the Waipungfc Valley via Turanga Kumu, Tarawera, and Runanga, (the latter the terminus.)
