Tele* . . graph: • TENDEBS are invitod for the supply and delivery of 250 TELBGBAPH POLES, more, or less, on the Taupo < road, between Tupurupuru (near Turanga Kumii) and Bunanga, the commencement of the ;Kaingaroa plains. ii 7 The poles are to be sawn f.om ; heart of Totara, and are tObeperfectly sound, straight, free from loose knots, Shakes,, iand sap ; any pole containing the least sap /will bo rejected. The majority are required to be. 20' feet long, 6 inohes square at. the top, 8 inohea square at the butt. A few may >c required of the following increased dimensions:— 27 feet long, 8 in, square at the top, 12 in. square at tho 'butt. 7 , ' ' 20 feet long, 8 in. square ati. thej top, 12 in. square at the butt. The poles are to be deUvered at the- placea whioh will be pointed out by the Telegraph Surveyor along the present track to Tanpo, following generally along the Waipunga Valley via Turanga Kuma, Tarawera, and Bunanga, (the latter the terminus.) Tenders are to contain prioe per pole as per sizes given. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £10 as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should anyjcompetitor refuse to Bign the cpntrapt in the event of his tender being accepted., Eaoh tender must inoludo the namesbf two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of tho contraot, in the event of the oontraot being aooepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed by the proposed sureties.
