Lytti-lton, Scott, left for Wellington on Friday afternoon. The cutter Glimpse, Croucher, arrived in tho roadstead early on Saturday morning. Sheoritfinally left Wellington on Wediusdav, April 21, rouiided Cape Pallasier the same evening, und arrived off Castle Point on Thursday, 22nd; bufc, after healing off and on till Tuesday, 27th, in consequence of tho severe north-east weather then prevailing, bore up for Wellington, and arrived next day, 28th. Ihe Glimpse left aiiaiu on Saturday, May Ist, at 3 p.m., and lounded Cape PaUiser at 10 p.m.; went into Castle Point on Monday, 3rd, and landed cargo on Tuesday ; loft on Thursday, 6th, at 10 p.m. ; rounded the Kidnappers at 7 p.ro. on Friday, and arrived as above. Experienced strong westerly gales on the passage. The schooner Saucy Lass, M'Gregor, arrived in the roadstead at 2 p.m. on Friday. She left Auckand on the 18th April for Waugarei, and arrived on the 19th; left for Mercury Bay on the 2'Zml, and arrived on 23rd; after loading a ctrgo nf sawn timber, shingles, &_,, left ou the Ist M'»y for -Viahurangi, and landed Captain M'Kenz.e; left again ou Tuesday, 4* h; rounded East Cape at C a.m. wn sth, and Poroland Island at 6 a.n>. on Oth, and a» rived as above. Capt. M'Gregor reports having had strong we.-terly gales on the passage. The Colonial Government gunboat St. Kilda, Fox, steamed for Wairoa and Poverty Bay with bullocks, ammunition, &o. at 4 a.m. yesterday. The schooner Shepherdess, arrived iv the roadstead at 2 p.m., yesu-rday, and was at once brought into the Iron Pot. She left Wellingtov. at noon on Saturday Bth, rounded Cape Palliser at 6 p.m., off Castle Point at 8 a.m. on Sunday, rounded the Kidnappers at midnight, and anchored. Left again ab 8 a.m. yesterday, and arrived as above, having had hne (southerly weather ou the passage. Capt. Sedcole reports having seen the Jane Anderson, off Pourere, and a cutter at anchor under the Kidnappers. We are indebted to him for a Wellington Independent of the 6th. Tiie Gothenburg left Hokitika for Melbourne on Sunday. The Tararua arrived at the Bluff from Melbourne on Sunday at 1 p.m., aud left again for Dunedin at 4 p.m., and arrived at 7 a.m. yesterday. The Wanganui arrived at Wellington on Saturday from Wanganui. The ship Harvest Home left LUe Bluff for London on Sunday. The schooner Hero, and cutter Greenwich may bo expected to put iv their appearance in a day or two from Wairoa. The Colonial Government gun-boat St. Kilda, Captain For, arrived at the anchorage at 5 p.m. yesterday, and was afc onco l»i ought into the Iron Pot. Sbe left the roadstead yesterday at 4 a.m. aud arrived off Wairoa at 9 a.m. In consequence of the very heavy southerly sea running and the heavy break on, Captain Fox seeing it was useless to attempt a landing, stood for Napier again aud arrived as auove. Captain Pox thinks that a landing cannot be effected at the Wairoa for several days.
