WHEK.Spring is near, and skies serene, Dame Nature smiles in robes of green ; A sumptuous carpet 'neath her feet,. •Her brea' h with flowers and leaflets sweet. The dewdrops glitter on the trees, Caressed by every passing breeze ; Pure blessings falling from above, Descending from our God of Love. When Summer glows with blushing skies, And night gems gleam like laughing eyes, .When loviog tendrils soft entwine The luscious burdens of the vine : . When deeper shades are in the sea, And softly murmurs the wild bee, We raise our thankful eyes above, In blessings to our God of Love. ' When Autumn brings her golden sheaves. Her brow entwined with fallen leaves, Her arms, by sultry suns embrowned, With ripest nuts are circled round. When happy evenings seem not long, Gliding away 'mid laugh and song, A hymn of joy we raise above, With sweet thanks to our God of Love. When Winter pales the earth with snow, Without our home his wild winds blow, And loud we hear the gathering storm, While by the ingle bright and warm, Our hearts by the dear baviour— Child, 1 Though earth-worn, loving grow and mild ; Oh ! may we join with those above, And praise our Father, God of Love.— Aeca.
