FCarey & Gillies's Report for week ending Jan. B.] Fat Cattle : At our usual sale on Monday last, at the Junction Yards, fat cattle did not command the price realised for some time back, partly owing to the fact that butchers had well supplied themselves towards the close of the year. Our sale averaged from 38s. to 40s. per 100 1 b. Store Cattle are inquired for, and good young stock realise high rates. We have no sales to report, but quote grown steers at from £7 10d. to £9 per head. Fat Sheep ; 360 were penned, all of -which found buyers at a reduction on former quotations ; 50 from Taranaki were placed at 18s. 6d to 19s. 6d ; 230 ex John Perm, from Wanganui. fetched 15s. 6d to 17s. 6d per head. Provincial-fatted sold at 16s. to 18s. Store Sheep : We sold (Stores from Poverty Bay at 9s. 3d; also disposed of a rough lot of wethers and ewes in their wool at 9s. 3d to 12s. Lambs were quitted at full rates.
