ARRIVAL OF THE ST. KILDA.
RETURN OF HENARE AND 150 NATIVE TROOPS. The B.s. St. Kilda, Capt. Fox, arrived yesterday forenoon from Wairoa, having on board the chief Henare and JSO natives, being the last of the native expedition which went inland to Puketapu and Papuni. Henare and his people were exceedingly anxious to go on to Ngatepa, but the Government considered that they would be too late to be of any real service, and ordered them home. The trip of the St. Kilda has been pro- j longed through the necessity, owing to bad weather, of that steamer having to go round to Wangawehi. On her return to Napier she called at Mohaka, to make the settlers there acquainted with what had taken place at Poverty Bay.
