The Wellington Punch says that the following works, amongst others, are in the press, and will shortly be published : — " The Pakeha Maniac," an original story, by G. Graham ; " The Political Surveyor," by Major Heaphy, "v.C. Fashionable Intelligence. — Sir D. Punro, Speaker of the House of mis-Ue-presentatives (salary £600,) has resumed the course of parliamentary dinners which have rendered his name so distinguished in past sessions. The company last evening included Lady Punro, Miss Punro, and Mr. Punro, junior assistant Committee Clerk to the House : — salary, 15s. a day. — Madam Tareha, M.G.A., and suite arrived from the North by the s.s. Eangatira, lasb week. The same steamer brought a pig and three kits of potatoes for Mete Kingi, M.G.A., a present from his admiring constituents; — On dit that the honourable Member for the Goldfields has not brought up his plate chest this session, with the view of giving, as intimated last year, official dinners to the sup?orters of his Government. — Wellington,
