Cueious Cibcumstance. — A fact lias been mentioned to us by Captain Fox, of the St. Kilda, -which is interesting, and may prove to be important to those connected with navigation. It appears that whilst at the Chatham Islands lately iv the Stormbird, lie was shown some. tele- ! graph posts with the new Zealand Government mark on them, and a gate which had drifted from the Middle Island to the Chathams, a distance of exactly 400 miles in au easterly direction. We understand that some of the posts were known to have been carried out to sea some time in February last from Amuri,— Wellington Independent.
