I Donald McLean, Superintendent as , aforesaid, by virtue of all powers in this behalf in anywise enabling me as Deputy of His Excellency the Governor of the colony of New Zealand, do hereby call out for the purpose of training — Ist. All the men of the first and second class of the Napier Regiment of Militia, known as Nos. 1 and 2, Napier Town, 2nd. All the men known as the Napier Volunteers, Cajpt. Buchanan's Company. 3rd. All the men of the first and second class of the Napier Regiment of Militia, known as Company No. 4, Napier Country District. 4th. All the men of the first and second class of the Napier Regiment of Militia, known as Company No. 3, Clive and Havelock ; also, all the men of the first and second class of Companies Nos. 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11. And I hereby authorise and request Lieutenant-Colonel George Stoddart Whitmore, the Officer commanding Militia and Volunteers in Hawke's Bay, to carry into effect this direction. Particular attention is called to No. 3 ' Section of the "Militia Acts Amendment Act, 1862," viz. : — Penalty for not attending for Training & Exercise' No. lll.— Every Militiaman liable to attend at any meeting of the Militia for training and exercise who shall fail , to attend at the time and place appointed, or shall leave before being dismissed, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding five pounds, to bo recovered in like, manner as penalties under the Eleventh Section of the " Militia Act Amend" meat Act, 1560."
