HpHB TELEGEAPH COMMISSIONER is JL prepared to receive tenders for the supply and delivery of one thousand (1000) poles, more or less, for a line of Telegraph to be constructed between Napier (commencing at the North Spit) and Wairoa, both in the Province of Hawke's Bay. The poles to be sawn from the heart of totara. The poles to be of the following length :— A few forty (40) feet long, twenty-four (24) inches square at the butt, and eight (8) inches square at the top. A few thirty-five (35) feet long, eighteen (18) inches square at the butt, and eight (8) inches square at the top. A few twenty-five (25) feet long, eight (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6) inches square at the top. The major portion to be twenty ,(20) feet long, eight (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6). inches square at the top. The poles to be. sound, straight, and free from sap. N.B, — No poles will be accepted that contain the least sap. The poles to be delivered at points and distances hereafter to be indicated along the present bridle track from Napier to Wairoa. Tenders are to speoify the price per pole as per sizes given. Each tender must be aooompanied by a deposit of twenty-five pounds (£25) as a guarantee of good faitb, which sum will be forfeited should any tenderer refuse to sign the contract in the event of his tender being aocepted.
