Lord Ashley, s.s., for Wellington and Southern ports, 15th inst. Maggie, brig, for Sydney, 15th inst. Saucy Lass, schooner, for Auckland, early Wellington, s.s., for Auckland, 25th instant Sturt, Colonial Governmeht gun-boat, for Wellington, this day The s.s. Star of the South, which arrived on Monday last, left this port on sth April, at 5 a.m., bound for Wellington, where she arrived, after a rough passage, on 7th instant. On the 9th took her departure for Nelson via tho French Pass, arriving at her destination next day. On tho 12th left for Hokitika, at 930 a.m. ; rounded the Spit at 330 p.m., and Cape Farewell at 635 p.m., arriving off tho Hokitika Bar next afternoon, and taking up her berth in the river on the following day. On the 10th inst. loft, with 130 passengers, for Marlborough (Queensland), and on the 26th instant arrived off Wido Bay bar, but, in consequence of heavy sea, could not cross, so ran down Break-sea spit and arrived at Maryborough on the 27th inst. On the Bth May left for Newcastle, arriving on 13th ; on 23rd left for Hokitika, where she arrived, after a fine passage, on tho SOth, laying off aud on for two days until the weather moderated, when, finding the bar impassable, ran for Greymouth, where she arrived same evening. On the sth instant left for this port, arriving as above, after a smart run of two days and a half. The schooner Saucy Lass left Auokland on the 27th May, bound for Mercury Bay, where she arrivod on 30th ; left again on the 6th inst., with light variable winds* put into Bay of Plenty on Tuesday last, where cargo and passengers were landed; proceeded on her voyage immediately after, and arrived in the Pot, at 10 a.m. on Thursday last. She brings 3,560 feet sawn timber and C packages doors and sashes. The cutter Betsy, bound for Kennedy's Bay and Auckland, took her departure on Tuesday last, carrying a few tons of cargo and 12 passengers for tho diggings. Tho brigantine Esther left for Wellington on Wednesday last, in ballast. The s.s. Star or the South, when on her passage from Hokitika: to Maryborough in lat. 3329 south, longitude 15839 east, spoke the whaling barque Emma Eliza, of New Bedford, 15 days out from Sydney, with 50 barrels sperm oil on board. The Sturt, p.s., left Auckland on the Ist instant, with Colonel Haultain and the hon. Major Richmond on board, bound for Tauranga, where she arrived next day at 7 a.m. Left again same day for Whakatu and Whakatane, returning to Tauranga on the 4th instant. On tho Oth took Governor Bowen on board, and on tlio 7th, at daylight, steamed in company with H.M.S. Rosario, for Maketu, where a great native meeting was held, after which returned to Tauranga, arriving at 9 p.m. ; left at 10 p.m., for Opotiki, which was reached at daylight next morning. On the 9th inst. left for Poverty Bay ; at noon lay off White Island, whore tho Governor and party lauded, remaining until 2 p.m., when she stea,u_eu for her destination, arriving on Thursday at 9 a.m. Took her departure at 0 p.m. same day, arriving In tho pot at S yesterday morning. i JAt dusk last evening a cutter was in sight, supposed to be the Agnes, from Povorty Bay, with horses, that vessel having left for this Port, on Wednesday.
