GKT.FANNIN, 475 Superintendent's Clerk. TO CONTRACTORS. THE Telegraph Commissioner is prepared to receive tenders for the erection of a Post and Telegraph Office at Napier. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of twenty-five pounds sterling as a guarantee of good faith, whioh deposit will be forfeited by any tenderer if, iv the event of his tender being aooepted, he refuse to take up the contract. Each tender mast, include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the work in the event of the tender being aooepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect signed by the sureties. ■ Plans and specifications can be seen, and all information obtained, at the Telegraph Office, Wellington, or at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Napier. Tenders endorsed " Tenders for erection of a Post and Telegraph Offioe," and addressed " The General Manager, Telegraph Office, Wellington," to be sent in not later than the 13th day of June, 1868. Wellington, New Zealand, May 13, 1868. 464 TO CONTRACTORS. rjnHE TELEGRAPH COMMISSIONER is JL prepared to receive tenders for the supply and delivery of one thousand (1000) . poles, more or less, for a line of Telegraph to be constructed between Napier (commenoing at the North Spit) and Wairoa, both in the Province^f Hawke's Bay. The poles to be sawn from the heart of totara. The poles to be of the following length :-— A few forty (40) feet long, twenty-four (24) inches square at the butt, and eight (8) inches square at the top. A few thirty-five (35) feet long, eighteen (18) inches square at the butt, and eight (8) inches square at the top. A few twenty-five (25) feet long, eight (8) inches square at the butt, and sis (6) inches square at the top. The major portion to be twenty (20) feet long, eight (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6) inches square at the top. The poles to be sound, straight, and frea from sap. N.B. — No poles will be accepted that contain the least sap. The poles to be delivered at points and distances hereafter to be indicated along the present bridle traok from Napier to Wairoa. Tenders are to speoify the price per pole as per sizes given. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of twenty-_fiv,e pounds (£25) as a guarantee of good faith, whioh sum will be forfeited should any tenderer refuse to sign the contract in the event of his tender being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two (2) sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect signed by the proposed sureties. Further information can be obtained at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Napier, and at the Telegraph Office, Wellington. Tenders endorsed " Tenders for supply and delivery of telegraph poles between Napier and Wairoa," and addressed " The General Manager, Telegraph Department, Wellington," to be sent in not later than the Ist of July, 1868.
