AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET.

[Reports for the week ending May 22.] ME. BUOKLAND'S REPORT. Ax the Haymarket, on Saturday last, fodder offered plentifully, and the prices of previous week were barely sustained. In the horse market, but little business was transacted. Bye-grass seed brought from 2s to 3s 9d the bushel. At "Waiuku, on Wednesday, there was a numerous attendance, and a large muster of stock, both cattle and sheep, met with a free sale, at prices fully equal to those ruling at the sales near Auckland. At Remuera, on Thursday, a large muster of store cattle were freely competed for. About 100 head of steers, from a to 3 years, in fresh condition, realised an average of £7 each. Cows and heifers, from £5 7s 6d to £7 2s 6d each. Fat cattle were in average supply j 69 head sold. Prices were higher for best quality than have lately ruled, best animals bringing about 38s the lOOlbs. Store sheep, of good quality, were inquired for. Long-woolled wethers bring 15s Gd each. Lambs in low condition, at 6s to 7s each. Fat sheep were in full supply ; they met with a free inquiry at last week's prices. The wethers from "Whangarei brought from 21s 6d to 25s 6d each. A full market of grown pigs met with a steady demand, at rather higher rates than have lately ruled.' WILLIAM HUNTER AND CO.'S BEPORT, On Saturday last, there was a fair supply of horses, but, with one or two exceptions, of very inferior quality. Hacks ruled from £3 17s 6d to £9 2s Cd ; draught stock from £7 to £14. A lot of superior colts from "Waiheke sold at very satisfactory rates, realising from £9 15s to £21 10s. Clover and grass seed unsaleable. At Newmarket, on Monday, there was a large quantity of cattle penned. Dairy cows were scarce and inferior, selling from £6 to £10. There was a decided improvement in the price of store stock, all offered being readily disposed of. Beef fully maintained last week's rates, with an upward tendency. Half-bred wethers realised from 15s to 23s 6d ; merinos from 6s to 13s. Pigs were scarce, and all in were sold at satisfactory prices.
