DEATH.
ESP]E.— Afc Newsteacl, Poverty Bay, from paralysis, on the 4th instant, Mr. Robert Espie, aged 58 He was one of the oldest settlers in Poverty Bay, and was generally respected by all who knew him. His funeral was far more imposing than any that had previously taken place in the district. 'Being a volunteer, the corpse was preceded by his comrades in full uniform, and followed by nearly all the settlers in Turanga. The usual volleys were fired over the grave.
