PROJECTED DEPARTURES.

Ahuriri. s.s., for Tauranga and Auckland, 20th 111 st. Maggie, brig, for Yokohama, Japan, via Newcastle, Lord Ashley, s.s., for Wellington, 17th inst. Taranaki, s.s., for Wellington, 18th inst. Annie, schooner, for Porangab.au, 20th inst. ~ Mary Eston, barque, for London, about April 7. The Taranaki, s.s., left Wellington on Monday last at 4 p.m. Throughout the passage had fine weather and smooth sea. She arrived on Tuesday at 1 p.m. and steamed next day at 11 a-m., for Tauranga and Auckland. The Mary Eston, barque, left Port Chalmers on Thursday the sth inst., and had light airs and calms throughout the following Friday and Saturday. Off Cooks btrait experienced a heavy nor-west gale which lasted 12 hours, and during which the ship was hove to for 4> hours. Since that time, light baffling winds from nor-east and nor-west have been experienced. Made the anchorage at 3 p.m. on Wednesday last. On Tuesday afternoon, off Cape Turnagain, saw a brigantine and schooner standing to the southward. The Mary Eston is a fine barque, classed Al, and has come up from Dunedin in ballast, consigned to Messrs. Kinross and Co., in order to load wool. She is of light draught, and is intended to load at the Meanee Spit. She will take about 1400 bales, and is expected to complete her loading in about three weeks. The Mary Eston is an American ship, hailing from Boston. She lately arrived at Dunedin, with a cargo of notions, consigned to an American house there, which receives regular supplies from American ports. She came inside yesterday morning. The Murewai, schooner, bound for Poverty Bay, took her departure on Wednesday last. The Esther, brigantine, Campbell master, sailed on Wednesday night for Wellington with a cargo of wool and grass seed. The p.s. Cleopatra, Palmer, left this port on Saturday last, bound for Poverty Bay, and arrived off the Big river next morning at 9.30, but could not enter before 4 p.m. On Wednesday, after calling at Turanganui, left for this port, where she arrived at 1 a.m. on Wednesday last. The last five trips made to Poverty Bay by the Cleopatra have been under charter to carry sheep &c, she having carried in that time, 1700 head, out of which only 11 have been lost, which speaks well for the carefulness of Captain Palmer, the mate and crew. The schooner Annie left Mohaka on Wednesday morning at 7 a.m., and arrived off Arapawanui at noon, where she remained until 4 p.m., when gotfllnder weigh for this port, arriving at 8 a.m. on Thursday, bringing 8 bales wool and 10 bags grain, also • 3000 palings. ■ The Cleopatra, Palmer, left yesterday at noon for Wairoa, with a cargo of merchandise. She is expected to return to-day.
